CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — It’s a day off from school, and some students living in the Cedar Knoll apartments in southwest Charlotte just want to play basketball.

“It’s not fun because all you do is have a park and a field,” said 9-year-old Zakiyah Garcia. “And we always have to cross the street. Just to go to the basketball court.”

Wait, a park and a field are not fun?

Well, when your basketball court has no rims and one goalpost without a backboard, you would think it’s a technical foul on the property managers of affordable housing in the city.
